Flåklypa Grand Prix

"Thirty-seven miles north, a little east and upwards, lies Flåklypa."

This is the opening of Norway's most watched movie of all time. With more than 5.5 million cinema tickets sold since its premiere in 1975, annual screenings on linear TV, and countless VHS, DVD and BluRay copies sold, and now also on various streaming platforms, Ivo Caprino's masterpiece Flåklypa Grand Prix has become an undisputed part of Norwegian cultural heritage.

In 2025, the film celebrates its 50th anniversary, and in August there will be a world premiere of the film in concert format! At the concert, for the first time ever, audiences will be able to experience the unique film on the big screen while Bent Fabricius-Bjerre's iconic music is played live by symphony orchestras. His music from 1975 has become a legendary soundtrack that many people have a strong relationship with. And the music is performed by Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Stavanger Symphony Orchestra and The Il Tempo Orchestra!

Flåklypa Grand Prix holds a unique position in Norwegian film history, and is internationally recognized as one of the very best stop-motion films (one image for each movement) of all time. Since its restoration in 2005, the film has further strengthened its prominent position, giving new generations the opportunity to discover and love the film, the unique characters and the magical Flåklypa universe.

The world premiere of Flåklypa Grand Prix in Concert will take place in Grieghallen on August 15th and 16th 2025, followed by concerts in Stavanger on August 30th and 31st, Oslo on September 6th, Hamar on September 13th and Trondheim on September 27th.

The project is a collaboration between Caprino Filmsenter, Exult Productions, Skyskraper Artist and Multitone, and together we will highlight the film and bring it to concert venues to excite audiences and celebrate the film's 50th anniversary! And in the coming years, we look forward to presenting this unique concert format in even more venues, both in Norway and abroad.
